Brown and Associates is an independent construction oriented locally owned Bonding and

Insurance agency specializing in Insurance, Contract Bonds, and Financial Services for the

construction industry. While some of our customers are national in scope, our service is primarily

Memphis, West Memphis, North Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Established in 1975, our agency is one of the larger Bonding oriented agencies in the South.

We have 26 employees, many with insurance and surety bonding company training. Our surety

production staff of 7 alone represents over 200 years of surety bonding experience.

We are members or associated members of the Associated General Contractors, Builder's Exchange,

Subcontractor's Association, Construction Professionals Council, Construction Finance and

Management Association, Better Business Bureau, Tennessee Roadbuilders Association,

Mississippi Valley Flood Control-AGC, Associated Builders and Contractors, and The

Insurers of Memphis.

Our Construction clients encompass diversities of operation and size. While no contractor is

too small, we have the capabilities and experience in handling bonded projects in excess of

$100,000,000. Our expertise encompasses Design/Build Contractors, Construction Managers, and

Joint Ventured construction projects.

We represent over 350 contractors, architectural and engineering firms in the Mid-South. We

insure and bond everyone from General Contractors to Subcontractors of every trade. We track

daily all jobs bid in our area and pride ourselves on our service, as well as knowledge of the

industry.

Locally, we have bonded many projects for our customers including work on the IRS Center,

the new bridge, the Pyramid, Cook Convention Center, Library, City and Country jobs, and FedEx

facilities. We have been active in bonding and insuring many highways, levees, flood control

projects, environmental remediation projects, landfills, water treatments plants and sewage

treatment facilities among others. Also, since 1994, we have provided the insurance and claims

management at the Memphis-Shelby County Airport for their construction projects under their

Owner Controlled Insurance program.
